Rooted in the gospel, planted in Othaya

A century of faithful witness

The gospel came to the Othaya hills through the early missionary work of the Church Missionary Society, and small fellowships began meeting under the trees long before a permanent building stood at Kanyange. Those gatherings grew into a congregation, then a church, and eventually the parish we know today.

Generations of catechists, lay readers and clergy have taught the Scriptures here. Through the seasons of Kenya's history our members have prayed, farmed, educated their children and served their neighbours — always returning to this altar to give thanks.

Today ACK St. Kanyange remains a village church with a wide heart: Kikuyu and English services, an active Sunday School, thriving Mothers' Union and KAMA fellowships, and a youth ministry that reaches across Othaya sub-county.
